Elaine Pimentel, PharmD

Elaine is a clinical pharmacist and clinical instructor with the Medication Review and Academic Detailing department at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She graduated with a bachelor’s in chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 2008 and a Doctor of Pharmacy from UIC College of Pharmacy in 2012. Elaine has been practicing at UIC for 8 years since graduating where she works in managed care with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. Her role includes reviewing prior authorizations, precepting pharmacy students, creating medical content, and playing an integral part of the pain management team. Elaine’s primary interests include pain management, patient counseling, and educational outreach with prescribers.
